You've created your workspace, installed the tracker, and seen events arrive. Before you start trusting the numbers and building campaigns on them, run through this checklist. None of it takes long, and getting it right now saves you from acting on incomplete data later.

Tracking

  • The tracker is on every important page, not just your homepage — product pages, checkout, and post-purchase especially. See Install the tracker.
  • You're identifying users. Call identify when someone logs in or signs up so their anonymous activity stitches into one profile. Check your Identity Stitch card — a healthy stitch rate confirms it's working.
  • Your key events are firing with the properties you need. Trigger each important action (sign-up, add-to-cart, purchase) and confirm it lands in Events with the right detail.

Data sources

  • At least one connector is linked so ad spend, orders, or payments flow in alongside your events — that's what powers attribution and revenue recovery. See Connecting your data.
  • Revenue is being captured (via your store, payments, or a purchase event) so the revenue and recovery numbers are real.

Trust & privacy

  • Consent is configured the way your business needs it, so you only collect and act on data people have agreed to. See Privacy & trust.

Your team

  • Teammates are invited with the right level of access — give people only what they need. See Account & billing.
  • Two-factor authentication is on for accounts with admin access.

Acting on your data

  • You've explored your dashboards and the numbers look sensible for what you know about your business. See Dashboards & analytics.
  • Your first engagement flow is ready (when you're ready to message customers) — start with a high-value one like cart recovery. See Engagement & recovery.

You don't have to finish it all at once

Most teams go live with tracking, identity, and one connector, then layer on engagement and more connectors over the following weeks. The point is to know which boxes are ticked before you make decisions on the data.
