Getting started

What is UMAP360? A growth operating system for modern businesses. It brings event tracking, identity resolution, analytics dashboards, attribution, and engagement automation into one platform — collected through a single lightweight tracker and surfaced in one dashboard. See Core concepts.

Who is it for? D2C brands, startups, and mid-market teams. Product, growth, and marketing folks use it to understand behaviour, optimise funnels, recover abandoned revenue, and measure campaigns. It's a B2B product: your organization signs up and you invite teammates as collaborators.

How do I create an account? Sign up with your email. You can use email and password, or sign in with Google, and turn on an extra authentication step for added security. A short four-step onboarding then walks you through naming your organization, installing the tracker, verifying data is flowing, and opening your dashboard.

How long does setup take? Most teams finish in under 10 minutes. You can move into the dashboard as soon as your first event arrives — you don't have to complete every onboarding milestone first. See Install the SDK.

Do I need a developer? For basic page-view tracking, no — installing the tracker is similar to adding Google Analytics. For richer setups (custom events, identifying logged-in users, capturing purchases), a developer who knows your codebase will add a few extra calls. The developer documentation covers the details.

Verification isn't detecting my events — what now? The usual causes are an incorrect or inactive write key, the tracker not yet deployed to a live page, a content-security policy blocking outbound requests, or the script simply hasn't loaded on a page a visitor has reached. See Verify events and Common issues.

Data and privacy

How is my data stored? Securely, with each organization isolated so you only ever see your own data. Keys, credentials, and secrets are encrypted, and backups run automatically. See How your data is stored.

What data does UMAP360 collect? Only what your implementation explicitly tracks — page views, custom events, identity signals (email, phone, user ID), session and device context, UTM parameters, and revenue events. You decide exactly which events and properties are sent.

Is UMAP360 GDPR-ready? We give you the tools: a built-in consent manager with legal-basis tracking, auditable consent records, data deletion, and full control over what's collected. Compliance ultimately depends on how you configure consent for your jurisdiction.

Can I delete user data? Yes. A profile can be deleted, which removes its associated signals, events, and sessions — supporting right-to-erasure requests under GDPR and India's DPDP Act. Deletion is permanent and can't be undone. See Data deletion.

Identity

What is identity stitching? It links the many identifiers a person leaves behind — anonymous IDs, emails, phone numbers, user IDs, device IDs, click IDs — to one customer profile. UMAP360 runs this on every incoming event, using both exact matches and fuzzier probabilistic signals, with a confidence score on each match. See Identity resolution and merging.

Anonymous vs. identified profiles — what's the difference? An anonymous profile is created when someone visits before sharing any identifying detail. Once your app identifies them (by user ID, email, or phone), the profile carries stable identifiers that persist across devices and sessions — and any earlier anonymous activity is merged in, so the full history is preserved.

Exact matches are the most reliable

Matches on email, user ID, or phone carry the highest confidence; fuzzier signals like device fingerprints carry less. You can tune which signals are active and set confidence thresholds in your stitch rules.

Analytics and dashboards

How often does dashboard data refresh? Dashboards read from pre-computed stats that refresh once a day. Loading a page shows the latest computation, so figures can sit up to a day behind real-time. See Dashboards overview.

Can I create custom dashboards? Today you get a main overview plus a library of deep-dive dashboards — including Revenue, User Acquisition, Product, Marketing, Customer Health, Retention, Attribution, Alerts, and Ad Performance. Custom dashboard creation is on the roadmap. See the dashboard library.

Which date ranges can I use? Every dashboard has a date picker with presets (Today, Last 7 / 30 / 90 Days, This Month, Last Month) plus custom ranges.

How does attribution work? You can compare four models side by side — first-touch, last-touch, linear, and time-decay — built from UTM parameters, click IDs, referrers, and landing pages. See Attribution.

Engagement

Which channels can I message on? Email, SMS, and WhatsApp — each configured independently with its own provider and templates. RCS is coming soon. See Channels.

How do triggered messages work? You build flows that react to behaviour: pick the event that fires the flow, an optional condition, how long to wait, the channel, and the template. When a matching event arrives, UMAP360 checks the condition, waits, and sends. See Building flows.

What is revenue recovery? When an automated message follows an abandonment (like an abandoned cart) and the customer then completes a purchase, that recovered revenue is credited to the campaign. The engagement view shows recovered revenue, recovery rate, per-campaign delivery and conversion metrics, and a spend-vs-recovered trend. See Campaigns and recovery analytics.

Can I A/B test messages? Built-in campaign A/B testing is planned. For now, run separate campaigns to similar audiences with different templates and compare their results in the engagement view.

Integrations

Which platforms can I connect? Email and WhatsApp providers, ad platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads), Google Analytics for acquisition data, Shopify for orders and revenue, and Razorpay for billing. Each connector shows whether it's connected, available, or coming soon. See the connectors overview and connect ad platforms.

A connector stopped syncing — what should I check? Most often it's expired or revoked credentials (re-authenticate or regenerate the key), temporary rate limiting (syncs retry on their own), a permission change needing re-authorization, or a transient network blip. You can trigger a manual re-sync from the connector's settings. See Connector health and troubleshooting.

Can I export data to my warehouse? Yes — a built-in BigQuery export lets you send profile, event, and analytics data on a schedule or on demand. See Data Bridge.

Billing and account

What plans are available? Four: Free, Starter Plus, Growth, and Enterprise, billed in INR on monthly or annual cycles. Each has its own limit on the users you track each month (identified and anonymous) and the features you can access — the Free plan covers up to 10,000 users a month. See Plans and billing and the pricing page.

How do I manage my team? Invite teammates by email from your account settings. Every member gets one of four roles:

RoleAccess
OwnerEverything, including billing, API keys, and members
AdminAll data and settings, including billing and API keys
MemberDashboards, analytics, and tools — no billing or key admin
ViewerRead-only dashboards and analytics

See Team and roles.

What are the API key types? Write keys send events (the one your tracker uses), read keys power server-side reporting, and admin keys cover restricted operations. Each shows a prefix, a request count, and a last-used time, and can be revoked at any time. See API keys.

Upgrades take effect right away

When you upgrade, the new plan and its higher limits apply immediately once payment succeeds. To move back to Free, cancel your subscription — it stays active until the end of your billing period, then drops to Free.
